meadow

across the way another place to rest

so vast and quiet

more sinkholes?

Coming in from Purgatory up the road from our house

I love this flower. I want to do this hike in the spring and will spend all day taking flower photos. Need knee pads to get down and good angles.

yellow budding tree top

flowers amoungst the fallen trees

Love this spiral effect

kissed by the sunrise

Can we say RAGWEED!!! A field of it!

Another beauty love it's geometric perfection

wild sunflower

I know this as indian paintbrush. Too far off the beaten path for a close up. Did not want to romp through possible snake haven.

I thoguht it was neat a cool butterfly/moth on a flower that anyone else would think is dead and gone

Love the fuzzy... I could focus on one or the other but at this close range not both.
This was the perfect ending effect.

entering the meadow I was in earlier that morning

trails going off the main into the forest

tiny little orchid, agian on the ground. The normal person wouldn't take a second look.
So tiny and so elegant, gorgeous like a small orchid.

These get out of order now. This is somewhere along the Dante trail

no shade to be found on this trail, a meadow along Dante Trail

still a few flowers here and there

here the deer have laid down and squashed the grass down

sun kissed and small, but gorgeous little guy

another pagoda to sit under

only noise was 4 airplanes flying over Thought of Roman.

the trial around the Prospect Park meadow

thru the woods

Looks like a bulb next to this stump
Will look for it in the spring and see what comes of it

inside the truck of a hollowed out tree.
Would like to show this to Lily so she can see what the inside of a tree looks like

Can you tell where the trail goes?

Thsi tree is a prefect lcimbing tree to watch the sun rise and light off forest - woodland floor I actually came aroudn one corner hearing voices, expecting to come to a couple walking. They were pearched in a tree, hidden outof plain view, not too far up, but a perfect little spot to visit and have a conversation.

the trail comes up right by the truck. I am looking back from the way I came through

This littel guy is just hanging out. i didn't even see him at first. GREAT PICTURE THOUGH!

This is how I came upon the gorgeous tree. The trail goes up by the stump, where the rocks are left corner of the picture. It looks liek grnadfather tree to me, relaxing on an arm, laying to let the sun shine warm it up, like a lizzard lays on a rock

coming out of the woods, the edge of the meadow again and I see more sunshine

looking back out to the meadow

a rememberance stone but in a perfect spot - reminded me of the light at the end of the tunnel to me. Gorgeous spot! Looks out into the Prospect Meadow.

almost at the end of my hike... got on the right side of the levy, almost where Ashley and I ended the other day, this was about 4 miles total. edge of the water bowl

a little shade... looking toward the end of the levy where I need to be

one of the trails toward the end of Dante

another at the end of Dante's Trail

This is gorgeous- looks like snow (or allergies)

Trailhead for Dante's AKA the freeway Ranch Rd 12, up from our house

was not anticipating walking out into the sun...
I can see the levy and know I need to be somewhere over there
(That is not the trail I took) The sun was a good deterant

off Dante's Trail I only saw 3 people - toward the levey ! crossed 3 bikers at a Y in the forest. Was happy to be in the shade a bit and also see people to know there was an outlet and I wasn't hiking a dead end

Dante's Trail almost full sun

I had a thermal on and was cold in the morning... You can tell how hot it got

crossroads at the end of Dante's Trail however I am sure not an end at all... I walked all about 15 to 20 feet before I went back to cut across and head toward the meadow. It was hot and I had been going almost 2 hrs, still had to get back and didn't know quite how I was going to get there

Trail in Forest of Prospect Park

My beautiful RED CARDINAL picture for MY MOM!!! LOVE YOU!
