hiking with Danny Sept 14th in the rain

We saw A LOT of deer so imagine how many were really out there!!! Maybe 10 showed themselves

Mommy and a baby (still had a few spots) were interested in us as well.

Baby deer with a few spots left... This years fawn. too cute!

The wet meadow looks so different and SMELLS SO GOOD!

It drizzled on us practically the whole way!

The trail was flooded in a couple of spots, so we had to make our way around.

Danny making his way around the flooded trail.

Overlooking the canyon we are hiking around (looks man made to me). We go all the way back to those houses and loop back around the other side of this canyon.

Can you spot Danny. He fell behind and I told him you could get 5 feet off the trial and disappear.

Took a new path down into a canyon.
A little muddy, slippery but our shoes were caked already! Fun and beautiful!
Spooked some deer, who spooked a skunk who sprayed and STUNK US OUT!!! We were so worried we would get right up on him! YUCK!

That is a house way up there... What a beautiful backyard they have!!!

We had to cross a creek (flooded trail) on the way back. I didn't get my camera out in time to catch Danny going through it. I went first and it was about ankle deep. My camera was wrapped inside my shirt (triple wrapped) and obviously got fogged up. It made this great vintage effect from the fog.
